Hethersett students meet the Bloodhound!

Yesterday (20th May) Year 5 and 6 pupils visited UTC Norwich to experience the Bloodhound Supersonic car.

This was a truly amazing visit! The day comprised of a presentation from our hosts which explained history of land speed record and facts about the Bloodhound. After the initial presentation the children went into workshops to experience 3D printing, building and racing K'nex cars as well as learning interesting details about the car itself including practical demonstrations (and explosions)!

Hethersett VC Junior School - inspiring the next generation of voters!

Today has been an exciting day!  In order to make the General election 'real' for the children, the whole school will be voting for next years House Captians.

Candidates (Children in Year 5) have put together a manifesto and promotional video which is has been viewed by all children.  Each child in the school will then vote for the person they would like to represent their House.

It was a tighly contested election with an excellent representation from each house.  There was also a good turnout at the voting booths with 100% of pupils placing their vote.

We are pleased to be able to announce our new house captains for 2015/2016.
